DNS Issues

Found an issues with my companies external DNS yesterday that I would be curious to know how long it has been a problem. Our external DNS for my website had 5 name servers listed on the root DNS servers, 2 out of these 5 did not work. So theoretically all pages loads could have been […]

Set Back for the Little Guy

Looks like the Net Neutrality bill has been rejected on pretty visible political lines. Check out this article. As far as I can see this movement doesn’t have much chance as long as republications are in control of both branches of congress. How do you backup your Cisco Configs?

One thing that I don’t think Network Admins do enough is backup their configs. Most Sysadmins backup their servers, you back up your important documents on your laptop. How many people backup the configs on your network gear. Granted their is less of a risk with a switch or router because they don’t have hard […]

Keeping up on the times.

I like most people in the IT industry are always looking for the best way to keep up on the latest thing. I try to use RSS feeds to keep up on what I can but a lot of the time you just get junk and end up deleting most of them. So this weekend […]
